DECLASSIFIED: The 2026 Showcase Briefing
We are now beyond the halfway mark of another year of music, and we have just taken our 2026 show (Shaken Not Stirred) to Yorke Peninsula.
We got quite stirred emotionally about this year’s theme, though our musical confidence remained unshaken. We trusted our Music Director to lead us to a definitive Mission: Accomplished.
Our resident Agent of Chaos, Josie, had written another hilarious original storyline. We negotiated (don't worry, no "truth serum" required!) with our favourite Euphemistic Euphoniumist and narrator, John Roden, and the incomparable Mark Oates to return to the field.
We are also incredibly grateful to our network of supporters. Our operative on the Tuba, Bailey, has been declassifying the potential of his new professional 5-valve instrument—purchased thanks to your generous "funding of our department" last year.

Important briefing update!
We successfully completed our mission in Maitland on Sunday 9 August!
In collaboration with the Maitland Rotary Club and Barley Stacks Wines, Second-Wind Ensemble presented our successful show on Sunday 9 August between 1 pm and 4 pm.
Sorry if you missed out on our 2026 showcase performances. We will present a final free public band concert for 2026 in support of the St Columba Church Annual Fête on Saturday 10 October 2026.
LUNCH ON THE LAWNS
Remember those Summer days!
The Second-Wind Ensemble was invited to help entertain visitors to the beautiful gardens of Government House on 7th November last year. We played an extended playlist with many favourites, and the immediate feedback from our audience was fantastic. It was also wonderful to be welcomed to the gardens personally by the Governor, who affirmed the value of community-based music activity in enhancing well-being.
Lunch on the Lawns was held in the grounds of Government House, North Terrace, Adelaide
on selected Fridays from 12 noon to 2.00 pm until May 2026
