OUR 2024 PERFORMANCE YEAR IS UNDER WAY!
This year's annual music showcase event (music with a dash of theatricality!) was held on the afternoon of Sunday 26 May at the Latvian Hall. Based loosely on Jules Verne's classic novel, "Around the World in 80 Minutes" was a fast-paced record-breaking musical and theatrical concert featuring the band supported by an actor and narrator. You can get an idea of theme of the program on our "Blow!" blog series!
Our final public appearance for 2024 is coming up soon! We continue our tradition of playing at the St Columba's Anglican Church Annual Fete on Saturday 12 October between 10am and 12 noon. Come and help support a good community cause and sample classic scones and a cup of fresh-brewed coffee...and of course be entertained by a free concert!

STRATHALBYN BANDS FESTIVAL 2024
We had a blast in the Fleurieu in August! We were able to build on the success of our May outing in Adelaide, and our playlist included a combination of familiar and more challenging pieces. Thank you to all those who came and supported some of the state's premier community bands during this event.
FROM A PAST PERFORMANCE...
On 8th October 2022, the Second-Wind Ensemble was invited to perform in the Mitcham Band Festival. This was our first public performance with our newly appointed Music Director, Josie Hawkes OAM. Our playlist included a couple of challenging lively pieces, including our finale, "Earth, Wind and Fire Dance Mix" and you can tell that the band had a blast!
